The opportunity

When Number Eight Business Finance presents us with an opportunity for a funding deal, we know it’s going to be high quality, and this deal was no exception.

Our customer is the UK’s largest blender of fruit juices, offering its customers a wide range of concentrates, purees and natural juices. The company may not be a household name, but as much as 40% of new juice and soft drinks found on supermarket shelves across the UK have their origins in its laboratory.

LendingCrowd knew that the business has built a trusted and strong brand name within its industry, with extensive experience across supply chain, customer service, sales and development.

We were pleased to support our client with a loan to provide the business with an instant injection of working capital and to refinance an existing short-term loan facility. This means the business will be able to invest in development projects, keeping it at the forefront of its industry.

Funding ambitions

Our customer’s CEO comments: “Despite the size and success of our business, we have struggled to work with our long-term bankers. Therefore, we were recommended to Number Eight Business Finance who have been superb in helping us to raise the funding require. We now have two loans with LendingCrowd and I am delighted with their attitude to lend and to move quickly.”

Working in partnership

David Grosse, Managing Director of Number Eight Business Finance, said: “I am seeing a trend of well-established and sophisticated businesses that no longer have any confidence in their high street bank relationship. This case is a classic example. The decision to work with LendingCrowd was an obvious one for us based on rate and a positive commercial attitude. In addition, the turnaround for us was quick and the product is best-fit for this customer.”

LendingCrowd’s Head of Origination, Adrian Innes, said: “LendingCrowd was founded to help fund the growth ambitions of established and successful business, and we look forward to working with Number Eight Business Finance again to see more deals bear fruit.”
